In terms of the series it was decent. It has a lot more politics than your average 40k novel. Which I enjoyed but I've read others found it boring. Another pro was that it has a little bit of everything — space battles, death watch, vulkan, assassins, sisters of silence. but overall I felt it dragged on too long.
